How it works

  1. Check if Heathrow Timeslot is available for your flight

Visit our online booking page and search for your flight on the drop down menu.

  2. Book your timeslot

Reserve a timeslot using the booking tool. No need to register, you'll just need your email address and flight details.

  3. Receive a QR code

Once booked, you'll receive email confirmation of your reservation including a QR code. Keep this safe!

  4. Arrive at Heathrow

Once you've checked in any baggage, follow signs to the Heathrow Timeslot area. A member of staff will scan your QR code and direct you to the security lane where you'll need to scan your boarding pass. You may arrive 15 minutes before or after your scheduled time.

  5. Enjoy a stress-free security experience

When you click 'book now' you will leave the Heathrow website and be taken to the booking platform of our external service provider. Please note the privacy policy and terms and conditions of use.

Frequently asked questions

Heathrow Timeslot allows passengers departing on selected flights from Terminal 3 to pre-book a slot, allowing access to a designated entry point into the security search area. Slots are available on a first come first served basis and you can arrive 15 minutes before or after your scheduled time.

Timeslot is a free service, helping us regulate the flow through security and speed up the process for you. It also provides you the reassurance of knowing you can go directly into the security area at a time of your choice. Booking a timeslot helps us more effectively plan our resources according to demand and reduce queue times for passengers.

You will be directed from the Heathrow website to our partner provider, CLEAR platform, to reserve your timeslot. Please visit our booking page to reserve your slot.

Heathrow Timeslot bookings are currently available for Terminal 3 flights operated by American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Emirates and Virgin Atlantic. The service operates from 05:00 - 21:30, 7 days a week, but may be impacted by the day-to-day operation.

The booking platform does not permit reservations for timeslots that are less than 90 minutes prior to departure for long-haul flights or less than 60 minutes prior to departure for short-haul flights.

We are currently trialling Heathrow Timeslot with selected flights from Terminal 3, but this may change over time. The number of reservations available will vary depending on the expected capacity at security and any bookings already made, so there may not always be availability for a time you choose. Slots are available on a first-come first-served basis.

If your flight isn't currently eligible, or there are no slots available for you on this journey, then don’t worry. Simply join the normal security lines and follow the usual process.

You can reserve a timeslot up to three days before your departure date.

No, FastTrack is a different service. Timeslot passengers will use the general security lanes via a designated access route to the security area.

You will need to enter your destination, airline, flight number, required party size and an email address.

A QR Code will be displayed on the booking site once your reservation is successful. You will also receive an email confirmation with this QR Code, along with a reminder email 24 hours before your selected slot. If you don't receive these, please check your spam folder. The email will come from Heathrow Timeslot (no-reply@whyline.com).

This is currently a trial offered at Terminal 3. After check-in, proceed towards security on level one, where you’ll see signage for Heathrow Timeslot. You can find Heathrow Timeslot using our interactive maps.

You'll need to show your QR code to a Heathrow Timeslot host to be scanned. Both digital and printed QR codes can be scanned.  You'll then need to have your boarding pass ready to scan at the ticket gates, before you enter the security search area.

You can book up to a maximum of five people (including both adults and children) in one booking by selecting the required party size. You'll receive one QR code per party, sent to the provided email address and will need to arrive together.

You may arrive 15 minutes before or after your scheduled time. If you arrive outside of this time, you'll need to go through the normal security process instead of using Heathrow Timeslot.
