Changes to public transport over the Christmas & New Year period

Over the Christmas period there will be a number of changes to public transport services running to and from Heathrow, including very limited services on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Passengers should plan their journeys before travelling, and allow for additional time where necessary as trains that are running will be much busier than normal.

World of Opportunity Programme

SME Grants Programme

Heathrow is calling for SMEs in every corner of the UK to come forward and pitch their products to the world. The UK’s hub airport is relaunching its World of Opportunity Programme which helps exporters to get their goods and services sold on international markets.
The programme is designed to support the UK’s SMEs in boosting their export potential, focusing on trade missions, research, and training. This programme will provide £2,000 grants to 12 SME businesses across the UK, with one grant awarded to a business from each region and nation.
Programme partnerships:

Heathrow has partnered with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) who will support via promoting the programme to their members and help judge the applications.  Winners will be connected to the network of advice via the Export Support Service, offered by the Department for Business and Trade, to assist in their research and export strategies.

Research support for the programme:

This programme follows the Department for Business and Trade’s (DBT's) findings that British exporters feel less confident about seizing international opportunities. The grant aims to address this by providing financial support and expert guidance to help SMEs grow their export potential.

Role of Heathrow in the programme:

As the UK’s largest port by value and a crucial hub for international trade, Heathrow recognises the critical role of SMEs in driving economic growth and promoting British products globally.

The World of Opportunity Programme is open from 23 September to 23 December and 12 recipients will be chosen by a panel of business and government experts, including Heathrow’s Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, Nigel Milton.

This programme continues Heathrow’s commitment to supporting UK businesses grow through international opportunities, helping them reach new markets and develop their export potential.
